The ZareniKit Voxel framework is a tool that allows developers to easily create voxel-based simulations that are rendered with 3D polygons in realtime using the Unity3D engine. Voxels are essentially small pieces of space that can have different properties and behavior. Unlike traditional polygonal models, voxel data is optimized to use less polygons where they are not necessary, and take up less memory, particularly when many points must be shown, resulting in smoother simulations and interactions.
Voxel data can be used for very many things. If the application you are thinking of needs to simulate behaviors or perform actions on a large number of points, where each point may be of a different type or behave differently from others, then this tool is for you. If you need to create thousands of different types of points quickly, edit them easily, and interact with them in realtime, then this tool is for you. If you are making a topographic map, plotting data on a grid, simulating particles or chemical reactions, coding a game, or visualizing a multi-layered object, and you want to do it quickly and easily, then this tool is for you.
The ZareniKit Voxel Framework is a plugin for Unity3D. It is currently being reviewed, and will be available on the Unity Asset Store for $10. The asset store link will be posted here as soon as the package is available.
